In this thought-piece, I translated SDG monitoring logic for a wider audience beyond the usual development sphere. The article explains why organisations should not claim SDG alignment based only on broad themes or slogans, but should work from the targets and indicators that define what each goal actually requires. It was written to help private-sector and mixed audiences think more rigorously about how SDGs and ESG relate in practice.
